Community Experience in India By Anneliese Trapp
Community Experience in Pune, India By Anneliese Trapp
Every Friday we had the opportunity to visit Nachiket Balgram- an orphanage near our school. Each visit was a heartwarming experience and an occasion to interact with children whose background was very different from our own. Together, we enjoyed activities such as coloring, singing, and even creating beautiful origami figures. Although there was a language barrier communicating with the children was an interesting and fun. They helped us perfect our Hindi and we were able to teach them some English. The hardest part was always leaving, saying goodbye to such sweet kids took us so long that we were always late for our bus! Overall, going to Nachiket Balgram showed us the true value of charity and making the most of life!
